A Righteous Life Is A Thankful Life

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving  thanks to God and the Father by him. – Colossians 3:17

ThankfulBeing a disciple of Christ is much more than just going to church, and saying and doing the right things there. Paul teaches us in this text that a disciple should be speaking and doing things for the glory of Jesus even when they are not in church.  A life that is all in for the Lord has faith as its guiding principle in every decision, conversation, or action.

By living this way, we show how thankful we are for the free gift of salvation that we have received from God through Christ Jesus. We don’t do works in order to be saved to heaven. We do righteous things because we are thankful that we can live in the liberty of knowing that our salvation was secured on the cross. We are in the hand of God an no one is able to take us away!
