“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report. Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” Hebrews 11:1-3
Hebrews Chapter 12 draws a conclusion from points being made in previous chapters, specifically chapter 11. In that chapter, several key points of evidence (witnesses) are used to establish the case for running the race of faith with patience.
The first point of evidence is that of creation. The fact that the universe is not eternal but a created object points toward the One Who created it. The God Whom we serve is greater than all things because He created all things from nothing!
One of our most encouraging cheers to press on is coming from God’s beautiful creation all around us. Who are we that a God that big would even take notice of us? Yet, He not only notices us, He cares for us and loves us!
